I almost yelled and woke up my baby when I saw this rug! Really, I am so loving it...Oh course only the amazing and talented peeps at Free People could come up with something like this. They did post a DIY on how to create your own but I am instructionally challenged. And this one has a few too many instructions for me...xo images from the wool acorn

Happy Birthday!
Well another year has passed and the dreaded time has come to turn a year older. Sigh! But I cannot help to love this Birthday. It comes with it all the celebrating of what last year brought. And what a year it was! This year, I want to celebrate what every new day brings. I want to be kinder to myself, more loving to my friends and family, celebrate life more, and be thankful. It seems to easy to complain about things I don't like about myself and harder to love what I do like about me. I look forward to this new age, although older, I think I am really starting to become a little wiser. images marshmellow, balloons, cake

Block Printing
I happened to stumble upon these beautiful block print tea towels. I just think they are lovely. Of course, I am instantly drawn to them because they are hand made and no two are alike. Created by a little artist in the UK and available right here on her etsy shop.

Snuggle in..
It started to snow. And I love being trapped in my home with my baby, a warm blanket, soup on the stove and a crackling fire. There is no reason to get dressed or run errands. It is just the excuse I need to snuggle in for a winters nap. I don't even mind doing laundry on days like these. Hope you are enjoying a little peace on this wintery day. xo image books

100 day challenge!
My dear friend, Bridget, took on quite the challenge. A 100-day quest to change. But not just to change the way she eats or how many times she makes it into the gym...but to change behaviors. To be kinder, ask for help when needed, to put down the phone and pick up a book, to try a new recipe, play a game with the kids, call an old friend, put away the laundry that is stockpiling in the corner and so forth. Her goal is to change her lifestyle. She is trying to get to 500 points in 100 days. She created her list of what she wants to do more of and gives herself one point every time she does so. One point for good eating, one point for going for a walk, one point for random acts of kindness, etc. So I am challenging myself to do the same. My list is a little different than hers but it fits what I want to change in me. So, ask yourself are you up for a 100-day challenge, if so go for it! Love you Bridget for inspiring me to be a better me! images lake, kindness, fruit, quote, pray

I'm back
Oh my gosh, I cannot believe it is August already. And now August is almost over. Where has the summer gone? So sad it is almost over. I have so many more things I want to do before the cold winter nights are upon us. Okay, so sorry I have been a huge slacker with posting. I have been so busy with this little angel baby and she is just too precious to take my eyes off of. So I am back, just like school in session. I am redesigning my blog home page... so keep posted! xo

a summer affair
So my friend Randi is all about the details and a great party. She had a little summer soiree at her lake cottage and went a bit crazy. So many cute details...she had an old fashion ice cream stand filled with cold treats, a popcorn machine, potato sack races(with red and white potato sacks), and mini pies as take home gifts from the elegant farmer. The hit of the party was a photo booth she created. Thought I would share some of my favorite pics! xo

A labor of love
Creating this room for our daughter, Chloe, was really was a labor of love. It did not come together easy but it turned out to be such a happy space. The walls are robin's nest by benjamin moore and they are much brighter than these pictures show. I wanted her to have a room that she could grow into...an imaginative space she could play and dream in. I filled her walls with artwork and I just love that influence. One wall hangs our prayer that my husband and I created for her. Instead of a traditional mobile, I opted for a handmade one created by my dear friend. Everything in her room comes with a little story which I tell her about all the time... original owl artwork jenny sweeney designs, fabric sis boom, doll blablakids

A sneak peak!
I was inspired to create a boho-style mala necklace after hanging out on the beach. Something you could layer or just wear alone. I was talking to a friend about the idea and she said I should attach a little note with each necklace, which I love. A little calling card with each piece...like "gratitude" or "compassion". I just think that is the sweetest idea to give a little message of hope. So these are still being worked on but I thought I would share a sneak peak. xo

Jenny Sweeney Designs Site Launch!
Yippee! So happy for my dear and lovely friend, Jenny Sweeney. She has been wanting to update her website for so long now. It was a massive work in progress. But it is an amazing reflection of her whimsical youthful style. Her new cards (my favorite is "find your happy place") are ridiculous! Her site reminds me of going into a store and finding a cupboard filled with delicious treasures. Every page is filled with inspiration. You will defintely want to check it out, www.jennysweeneydesigns.com . Congrats Jen xoxoxo!
