A classic twist

There is nothing like a warm cup of tea, a cozy spot and a Jane Austen book. I love that Mr. Darcy! I was so excited when I saw these classics with the beautiful updated covers by Coralie Bickford-Smith. Wouldn't they make such a lovely Christmas gift? hint hint! available here

Summer reading list

My summer bucket list also included reading ten books. I am feeling the pressure to complete this by Labor Day. There are so many great books out there. These are a few of the ones I have been reading. If I had to pick one that everyone should read it would be "Left to Tell" it is amazing true story that will touch your soul. Immaculee Ilibagiza tells her dramatic and haunting story of surviving the Rwanda genocide. 

Gum Drop Pillow

A few months back my friend Bridget and I took on the daunting task (for me) of making these adorable  gum drop pillows by Amy Butler. Bridget ( a sewing expert) was kind enough to cut out the fabric so our craft night wouldn't last into the wee morning hours. They really were so much fun to make and the result was worth the effort! Amy Butler has tons of fabrics and patterns to choose so that you can make your own gum drop pillow.

Matt Albiani and One Kings Lane

Matt Albiani is best known for his fabulous beach photography. His new book, Lifeguard on Duty, is a showcase of his works. From July 17-20 One King's Lane is offering a sampling of Matt Albiani's work and some vintage wares. It is an eclectic mix of surf and beach housewares. Love the longboard and Moroccan footstool!

Paumes Books

Okay, so I have been dying to order the Paumes books, the problem is there are so many to choose from. The amount of inspiration looks endless from London and Paris Kitchens to studio spaces and kids rooms...These books are all written in Japanese but you can now get them in the US (still written in Japanese, fyi).

Wall art

Such funky ideas for making a boring wall look fabulous! Living etc., a British based home decor magazine,  is a bit pricey at about $8 an issue but you will hold onto each one like a book. It is packed with fresh and inspiring decor ideas like these. Check it out!

Bazaar Style

During a trip to Arkansas, with my girlfriend Jenny we came across this fabulous book,Bazaar Style, at her sister in laws house which mixes vintage with funky. It is such an inspiring book you'll want to dog ear every page.
